One of the lessons of the Haitian Revolution is an awareness of the importance of greatness in our lives. I don’t know what happened to the Haitian spirit, but, as Haitians, we used to value the highest and the best in life. These days, a lot of us keep one eye open on what we want to accomplish and close the other one on practices that we find to be unproductive, yet familiar. In everything that we do, the question to pose ourselves is, “Is this the best that I can do?” We should ask ourselves the same question a few days later because “our best” varies. With increased knowledge comes increased mastery, generally. It is therefore necessary to revisit our views, our recent actions, and our aspirations. At any moment in life, we have to leave behind what no longer serves us, what no longer works.
MyKasika.com’s main interest in contributing to the Haitian renaissance is to assist in the rebuilding of Haiti’s greatness, one Haitian at a time. Great personal development engenders collective greatness.
It is time for Haitians to shine again. We can do it if we focus on doing, and giving, our best.
