Traditionally, as soon as a new year ushers in, we start making resolutions to improve our lives. In some instances, these resolutions are soon forgotten and we go back to our former practices, at the risk of having to deal with a guilty conscience.
In the case of Haiti, it is obvious that a great number of us are truly devoted to its development. We seem to forget, however, that, collectively, we are Haiti. To a certain extent, what will happen in Haiti this year will be a direct result of our collective actions. There is no doubt that miracles are still possible in the 21st century, but we need to starting working, and praying, for a change in Haiti.
