Thanks to my son, an industrial engineer, I understand the importance for a person to be productive as much as possible. Obviously, a great number of our business conversations have been on productivity. Whenever I have a chance to learn more about the topic, I seize the opportunity. I was fortunate to participate in one of Alex Mandossian’s teleseminars earlier this evening. He was invited to speak at “Engage Today” on a topic of extreme importance: Productivity Secrets. I am going to share two of Alex’s tips that you may want to start applying as of tomorrow:
1. Start your day with a 30-minute review. You may decide to read a passage from a previously read book, reflect on any material with which you are familiar, etc.
2. Select a verb that encapsulates the type of person that you are. For example, Alex focuses on improving the information that he finds on his quest for knowledge. His verb is “improve”. Therefore, he is in a position to say, “I improve, therefore I am” to indicate this important trait about himself.
Alex’s presentation was outstanding as always; I do my best to take advantage of every opportunity to learn from such a masterful teacher. As a bridge-builder(http://twitter.com/bridgebuilder), my role is to bring into the global Haitian community web resources that are practical and simple. I could not help thinking of how some of us waste time planning long meetings or discussing matters over which we have no control. How many unfinished projects do we have in our drawers or in our computer’s hard drive? When will we take the necessary steps to become productive and efficient? This week’s resource is http://www.productivetoday.com. You’ll learn more about Alex Mandossian on that page. Your time there will be well spent.
Please remember to add a comment to this post to let us know what you think. By the way, based on what you have been reading on this blog, what do you suppose “my verb” is? Choose from to teach, to share, to create, to encourage, to inspire, to improve, to innovate.
